Public Notice: Grand Forks County has been awarded federal funds through the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. Emergency food and shelter programs in Grand Forks County are eligible to apply for $18,365 through EFSP Phase 39 and $56,763 through EFSP ARPAR. A board of various representatives will determine how the funds awarded to Grand Forks County are to be distributed to the local emergency food and shelter programs. To be eligible for consideration of funding, local agencies must: Applicants must be private, voluntary non-profits or units of government. Non-profits must have a voluntary board Applicants must be eligible to receive federal funds, the agency's EFSP account must be up to date. Applicants must have a FEIN and DUNS number Applicants must have nondiscrimination practices and policies in place. Applicants must demonstrate the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs. Funding may only be used to serve Grand Forks County residents. No individual, family or household may be charged a fee for service or be required to attend religious/counseling services with relation to the assistance received under EFSP. Applicants applying for rent/mortgage assistance or utility assistance are required to uphold the system established by the Local Board to ensure that no duplication of payment occurs.
