Grand Forks County has been awarded federal funds totaling $39, 285 made available through the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. Emergency food and shelter programs in Grand Forks County are eligible to apply for $23,090 through the CARES Act and $16,195 through Phase 37 EFSP. A board of various agency representatives will determine how the funds awarded to Grand Forks County are to be distributed among the local emergency food and shelter programs. In order to be eligible for consideration for funding, local agencies must: 1. Be private, voluntary non- profits or units of government 2. Be eligible to receive federal funds 3. Have an accounting system 4. Practice nondiscrimination 5. Have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs 6. Agencies that are a private, voluntary non-profit, must have a voluntary board. Agencies interested in applying for these funds should visit givegfegf.org/EFSP to submit the online applications.
