Home of Economy in Grand Forks, North Dakota, has been a retailer of quality home furnishings for over sixty years. We have sold many of the finest furniture brands over the years. In the late 1990's many of the most prominent American brands of furniture started sourcing their products from over seas, and ceased producing in the USA. Unable to find the quality American-made products we were known for from these suppliers, we started to look for new, reliable sources.
At about the same time, many Amish families, no longer able to support themselves by farming, started to market bench-made hardwood furniture.
Having heard of the Amish reputation for quality products, Home of Economy contacted some of the premier builders in Holmes County, Ohio, which has the largest number of Amish in North America.
