About
The Red River Valley Habitat for Humanity has been serving the Grand Forks, ND and East Grand Forks, MN communities since 1989.
Since then, we've built over 30 homes for low-income families in the area.
Almost 20% of North Dakotans live in poverty. The stability that home provides for families is beneficial for holding a job, child development, and wealth accruement. No one should have to choose between paying the rent/mortgage and gasoline for their car or nutritious food.
Red River Valley Habitat for Humanity offers a hand up, not a hand out to residents of the Red River Valley who are struggling with rent or mortgage payments that exceed 30% of their income. Often, the homes affordable to families with low-income offer inadequate space, dilapidated interiors and/or exteriors, and require additional costs in repairs. Working with partner families, our Habitat for Humanity affiliate can create brand new houses suitable to the family's needs with a 0% mortgage that does not exceed 30% of their monthly income.
Assisting our partner families in achieving a sense of security for them and their children, offering stability, and the chance to focus on building wealth and savings is rewarding. To be part of this wonderful process, contact marisa@rrvhabitat.com to donate or volunteer.
