In 1987, Gerrells Sports Center opened Hockey World and doubled their already large inventory of hockey and figure skates and equipment.
Hockey World introduced "skate leasing" to the area in 1989. Skate customers have embraced this unique service and lease over 1600 pair annually. These customers are found in 10 different states and two Canadian provinces. Skate leasing has created a huge inventory of reconditioned skates. Retail outlets and hockey associations often shop our large inventory and purchase reconditioned skates in bulk quantities.
